Match Preview

Pakistan is all set to take on South Africa in the 1st ODI match of the five matches series in Bloemfontein. Pakistan has bounced back gracefully in the T20 after insulting defeat in Tests earlier.
While Misbah-ul-Haq returns to the team captaining the side, we see also see names like Nasir Jamshed, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Akmal brothers, Junaid Khan and Younis Khan in the ODI squad.

For South Africa, Fast bowler Kyle Abbott has been added to South Africa’s one-day squad for the series against Pakistan, as cover for the injured Morne Morkel. Morkel had picked up a hamstring injury during the course of the second Test and is still recovering.

As a result of that injury, Abbott was called up to the Test squad too, for the third match, and impressed with a nine-wicket haul (including seven in the first innings) on international debut. He is also part of the squad for the two Twenty20s that precede the one-dayers.

South Africa other fast-bowling options in the one-day squad include Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Rory Kleinveldt and Ryan McLaren. For Pakistan, variety like Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi make them strong opponents during ODIs.

The 1st ODI between Pakistan vs South Africa is being played at Chevrolet Park, Bloemfontein on 10th March at 08:00 GMT, 10:00 local Bloemfontein and 13:00 PKT in Pakistan.
